A major American printing company, Shutterfly, has decided to close its office in Haifa, resulting in the layoff of 80 employees. This move is aimed at “optimizing work processes and improving delivery speed for customers.”
Shutterfly is known as a U.S.-based company specializing in personalized advertising and photo printing. The Israeli division was established in 2012 following the acquisition of Haifa-based company Photoccino. The deal was valued between 10 and 20 million dollars at the time. The Haifa center functioned as a global tech division.
In its official statement, the company expressed gratitude to the Haifa office employees for their “dedicated work over the past 14 years.” Shutterfly also assured that it plans to provide comprehensive support to its employees during this transitional period and fulfill all legally mandated procedures.
