The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman is seriously contemplating the possibility of supporting American strikes against Iran. This is reported by a source who indicates that this decision is just a matter of time.
For a long time, the authorities of Saudi Arabia categorically refused to provide their facilities or airspace for conducting bombings in Iran. However, as noted by journalists, the kingdom has recently granted permission to American military forces to use the King Fahd airbase located in the western part of the Arabian Peninsula.
It has also been revealed that Saudi Arabia is eager to prevent the Houthis from becoming involved in the Middle Eastern conflict. Saudi officials are making diplomatic efforts to keep this movement from participating in hostilities. The USA and Israel are also trying to avoid provocations that could push the Houthis into war.
At the same time, a high-ranking military leader of the Yemeni army, Abed al-Tawr, stated that Yemen could decide to intervene in the conflict on Iran’s side. According to him, the country may close the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait to American and Israeli vessels.
Additionally, there are reports that as a result of actions by American forces, oil tankers have halted movement in the Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran, with their movement speed reduced to zero. This strait is the only maritime route for exporting oil from six countries: Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
