The Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi, announced plans to hold consultations in the capitals of participating countries following the completion of talks in Switzerland. According to him, technical discussions on resuming dialogue will take place in Vienna afterward.
In turn, Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, noted that there has been “good progress” in the indirect negotiations. During these discussions, Iran reaffirmed its absolute refusal to transfer uranium held by the ayatollah regime or to dismantle its nuclear facilities. Araghchi emphasized that Iran has the full right to enrich uranium.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also mentioned that the recent round of negotiations in Geneva was “one of the most serious.” At the same time, Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the country does not intend to possess nuclear weapons, as this contradicts the promises made by Iran’s spiritual leader, Ali Khamenei.
“The spiritual leader of our people cannot lie,” Pezeshkian declared on Iranian state television. “If he announces that we will not have nuclear weapons, then we will not have them. Even if I wanted to do this, I cannot – due to my beliefs.”
