The Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar commented on reports regarding the elimination of Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. His remarks came after a meeting with his Estonian counterpart at a press conference.

Saar stated:

“Last night, the Israel Defense Forces eliminated the commander of the ‘Basij’ Ghalamreza Soleimani and his representative, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani. Without them, the Iranians will be much safer.”

The minister also noted:

“By the way, we still have not seen Mojtaba (Khamenei). Wouldn’t you like to see him, Mr. Minister?”

He continued:

“He may even continue to hide, but at least he should show his face; otherwise, it becomes somewhat awkward for this regime.”

Gideon Saar pointed out that the ‘Basij’ unit, whose commander was killed, is responsible for the brutal suppression of protests in Iran. Ghalamreza Soleimani was under U.S. sanctions for his role in quelling demonstrations.

Saar also added:

“Larijani was also under sanctions. By the way, the U.S. has announced a reward of $10 million for his head. We did this for free.”
