The Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah has issued a warning in Hebrew, strongly advising residents of northern Israeli towns to leave areas close to the border. The message includes a map highlighting a zone within a five-kilometer radius from the border, where relocation is recommended.
The statement emphasizes: “Warning to the residents of northern towns: you are instructed to evacuate from all settlements located within five kilometers of the border.” Additionally, Hezbollah claims that the actions of the Israeli military against Lebanon “will not go unpunished.” The document states:
“The aggression of your military against the sovereignty of Lebanon and the safety of its citizens, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and the ongoing campaign of displacement will not go unpunished.”
This statement was made shortly after Israel first warned residents of the southern suburbs of Beirut about the need to leave the area ahead of upcoming strikes on Hezbollah targets. The focus is on the Dahia neighborhood, which is considered one of the group’s key strongholds. Following this warning, thousands of people began to leave the area.
Israeli authorities assert that such warnings are aimed at protecting the civilian population and allow people to evacuate potentially dangerous zones before attacks begin. Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s warning came after several days of rocket and drone strikes on Israeli territory, including nighttime attacks on border towns.
In Israel, it was noted that the evacuation of northern cities is not being carried out. Instead, the army has commenced ground and air operations aimed at pushing Hezbollah forces away from the border. Later, the group claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Israeli soldiers both in Israeli and Lebanese territory, stating that these were in response to the strikes on Dahia.
