In San Jose, California, local police have begun an investigation into an attack on Jews that occurred earlier this week outside the Augustine restaurant. The incident is being treated as a hate crime.

According to reports, two natives of Haifa, Lior Zeevi and Daniel Levi, were waiting in line while conversing in Hebrew. At that moment, they were assaulted by three aggressors who began to beat them, shouting insults towards Israel and demanding that they “not mess with Iran.”

“I turned around, and they started to hit me. They hit me really hard. It hurts a lot. I can’t chew, my jaw hurts, my back hurts,” shared one of the victims about his experience.

Both men were hospitalized with injuries, while the attackers managed to flee the scene. The police are currently conducting an active search for the assailants.

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan publicly condemned this heinous attack, stating, “I am in contact with leaders of the Jewish community and the police and will keep them informed about the progress of the investigation.” He also emphasized that the city stands with the Jewish community.
