Diplomats from Qatar and Oman have initiated discussions with Iran regarding a potential ceasefire. This was reported by sources mentioned in a recent publication.
According to the information presented in the article, officials from Qatar and Oman began reaching out to Iran this week, realizing that the significant military presence of the U.S. and Israel is unlikely to overthrow the Iranian leadership in the near future.
In response to the proposals from Qatar and Oman, Iranian representatives stated that they are willing to cooperate only after the U.S. and Israel halt their attacks.
Military Actions
On February 28, the Israel Defense Forces carried out airstrikes against Iran, targeting the country’s largest cities, including Tehran. In retaliation, both sides closed their airspace.
U.S. President Donald Trump subsequently confirmed the country’s involvement in military actions against Iran. The Pentagon labeled its operations as “Epic Fury”.
In response to the attacks, Iran launched dozens of ballistic missiles toward Israel and conducted drone and missile strikes against American bases located in various countries across the Middle East, including Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian side referred to its operation as “True Promise – 4”.
