In the studio of the program “Po Dusham na MDTv” was Javid Nagiyev, a well-known Azerbaijani blogger who actively supports Israel and shares his impressions of trips to the restored territories of Azerbaijan.
How was your recent trip to the Alley of Martyrs?
It went great. Both government officials and ordinary people showed up. I really liked that in Azerbaijan there is no difference in religion — everyone gathered to pay their respects.
Why have you started visiting the restored territories so often?
I started going there to see the changes. In the two years that I hadn’t been there, there have been tremendous changes: the roads have improved, construction has begun, and there are already jobs for local residents.
What can you say about the state of infrastructure in these areas?
The roads are now in excellent condition, and the number of tourists has significantly increased. I was surprised by the number of people coming there.
What do you think about the Tatik Papik monument? Should it be preserved or dismantled?
I believe it should not be dismantled. It has become a symbol of victory for us, and it attracts tourists, which is important for the region.
How do you assess the possibility of peace with Armenia?
Peace is possible, but that doesn’t mean friendship. We all want to live in peaceful times, but the wounds from the war are still fresh, and that takes time.
How did you start your blogging career?
I started with simple videos about Baku, and then, during the war, I was inspired by the work of other bloggers. I wanted to contribute and defend the interests of my country.
Why did you decide to defend Israel and the Jewish people?
I studied in a Jewish school and saw how important it is to know the truth. I started researching the facts and wanted to defend Israel while speaking out against anti-Semitism.
How do you see the attitude of Azerbaijanis towards Jews and Israel?
In Azerbaijan, I don’t feel hatred towards Jews. People approach me and express support for Israel. This is significantly different from what is happening on the internet.
What advice would you give to those who want to become bloggers?
You need to have nerves of steel and be well-read. If you don’t have enough knowledge, it’s better to prepare before going live.
Javid Nagiyev shared his thoughts on the importance of knowledge and the responsibility of bloggers. He believes that proper information and support for Israel play a vital role in strengthening friendship between nations.
