As a result of a targeted strike carried out by the Air Force on a target in Tehran, Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib has been eliminated. The operation took place on Wednesday night and was conducted based on precise intelligence information provided by AMAN, reports the Israel Defense Forces’ press service.

Khatib took office as Minister of Intelligence in 2021, appointed by Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei. He was responsible for the functioning of the Ministry of Intelligence, which serves as the central body for the regime’s intelligence activities and plays a crucial role in suppressing internal dissent and carrying out terror operations. This ministry possesses advanced intelligence capabilities and serves as the main tool for conducting surveillance, espionage, and covert operations worldwide, particularly against the State of Israel and Iranian citizens.

Khatib’s Role in Suppressing Protests

As Minister, Khatib significantly contributed to coordinating arrests and eliminating demonstrators, as well as forming the operational picture during recent protests in Iran. He actively acted against Iranian citizens during the unrest of 2022–2023.

The elimination of Esmaeil Khatib is part of a broader operation in which dozens of high-ranking commanders of the Iranian regime have been removed, including representatives of the Ministry of Intelligence, deepening the blow to the command and control systems of the terrorist regime.
