Биография

Fariz Ashurov is a man who transforms digital technologies into bridges between cultures and generations. Media manager, editor-in-chief, TV host, and public figure — behind each of these titles lies not just a line on a resume, but an entire chapter of a living story.

Born in Baku in 1980, he absorbed from an early age the spirit of a city where dozens of cultures and traditions have intertwined for centuries. His education at MTUCI (Moscow) in the field of communication technologies and information systems gave him more than just a diploma — it shaped a unique perspective on a world where technology exists not for its own sake, but for the sake of people.

Today, Fariz is the editor-in-chief of the international platform JewishAzerbaijan.com. This is not merely a news portal: it is a living platform where the voices of Azerbaijan’s Jewish community are heard, where dialogue between Baku and Jerusalem takes place, and where public diplomacy takes digital form. Analytics, historical agenda, intercultural dialogue — all of this comes alive daily on the pages of the project.

One of Fariz’s most personal projects is MemoryName.az. This large-scale digital initiative to record and systematize Jewish burial sites begins in Baku and gradually extends across the entire territory of Azerbaijan. Every name, every photograph, every point on the map is a recovered memory that might otherwise have been lost forever. Archival work, photographic documentation, cartography, and an open database — all of this comes together to form a unique digital infrastructure of memory.

Fariz also has experience as a TV host on Baku TV, where he hosted socio-political and cultural programs, earning a reputation as a professional who knows how to speak about complex matters simply and about important matters deeply.

His journey is a story about how one life can connect technology, history, and a public mission, creating a space where the past is preserved and the future is built with intention.
