The Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that an open armed confrontation has begun between his country and the government of the Taliban in Afghanistan. He stated:

“Our patience has run out. This is now an open war between us and you.”

Asif expressed confidence that the Pakistani military, given its proximity to Afghanistan, is well aware of the enemy and its vulnerabilities.

In his speech, the minister accused Kabul of turning Afghanistan into a colony of India, as well as encouraging terrorism and violating citizens’ rights. He added:

“They have deprived their own people of basic human rights. They have taken away the rights that Islam guarantees to women.”

On Thursday evening, fighting broke out along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Kabul reported the capture of 15 border posts, while Islamabad announced the destruction of Afghan fortifications and equipment in response to the Taliban’s actions. According to the Media Today portal, clashes are ongoing, and the Pakistani army is using small arms, artillery, and strike drones.
