The Commander of the U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, held a closed briefing for President Donald Trump, during which possible military actions against Iran were discussed, according to sources.
Also participating in the briefing was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine. Sources claim that the scenario of a joint U.S.-Israel operation against Iran remains relevant and continues to be discussed. Other details of the briefing remain unknown.
Iran-U.S. Negotiations
At the same time, Oman’s Foreign Minister Said Badr al-Busaidi reported the conclusion of the third round of negotiations held in Switzerland. Following the completion of the talks, the parties will continue consultations in their capitals, and technical discussions are planned to take place in Vienna.
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, noted that there has been “good progress” in the indirect negotiations. He stated that Iran categorically refuses to transfer uranium and dismantle its nuclear facilities. Araghchi emphasized that “Iran has the full right to enrich uranium.”
Statements and Promises
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the recent round of negotiations in Geneva was “one of the most serious.” Meanwhile, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian assured that the country will not develop nuclear weapons, as promised by Iran’s spiritual leader Ali Khamenei.
“The spiritual leader of our people cannot lie,” Pezeshkian stated on state television. “If he declares that we will not have nuclear weapons, then we will not have them. Even if I wanted to, I could not do it due to my beliefs.”
